Dress Like Daragon Without Breaking The Bank

Dress Like Daragon Without Breaking The Bank

I’m a Hallyu fan for almost two decades, but it was only recently when I became a shipper – a DARAGON!

Dara and GD dress so alike, and I’m not just talking about the brands they wear. I’m also pertaining to the angst and aura they possess in front of the public. I bow down to their sense of style – no matter how weird it may seem to look.

So, if you are a fan of these two, I certainly know how it feels like dreaming to look and dress like them. But don’t worry you can channel that inner Daragon even if you are on a budget.

DARAGON STAPLES

1. Distressed Pants

The distressed pants are just like oversized shirts, they are pretty everywhere. However, I don’t get why are they much expensive comparing to the plain ones. Shops retail distressed pants from AED 195 – AED 250 (Php 2500 – Php 3250). Whilst you can get a plain one for AED 99 (Php 1300).

Thrift Tip: There’s is no need to get out of your room to achieve this Daragon look. All you need is good old pants, scissors, tweezers, and youtube! (You can search DIYs online, most of them are really good).

2. Classic Button-Down

Not just for the Hallyu world, but classic button-downs are must-have for everyone. These kind of clothes can be dressed up and down, depending on your mood. I believe that there are items of clothing that we need to invest. A quality button-down can last for years.

Thrift Tip: Invest on this staple. Though  I’m not saying you should go for the expensive or labeled ones, try to find a good quality button-downs in your favorite shops. I usually buy mine from Zara and Mango. Price ranges from AED 129 – AED 169 (Php 1700 – Php 2000).

3. Statement Sneakers

Most of the time, Dara and Jiyong are seen wearing sneakers. Some of their favorites are from brands Vans and Adidas. But they also have freakin’ expensive sneakers such as the collaboration of Reebok and Vetements. (See post below).

Thrift Tip: You don’t really necessarily need to buy the exact sneakers of our favorite Daragon. As long as you have a nice pair of sneakers, pair it with an oversized shirt and athletic trousers, you are good to go.

4. Minimalist Caps/Bucket Hats

Having a bad hair day? Wear a cap. Do you have fear of crowds? Wear a cap. Caps don’t only save us from trouble (bad hair day, embarrassing moments, and like), but it also accentuates our style. You can go for the classic black cap or the statement one’s just like GD and Dara.

Thrift Tip: You can play with basic or accent colors and textures. You can buy caps from AED 30 and above.

*So…There is this one GD item I bought… And that is a PeaceMinusOne cap. This one is a blue version since it’s a collab between PMO and Collette store in Paris. The bulldog pins were bought directly from PMO’s website.

Whether you are living in UAE, the Philippines or any part of the world, you can always dress like Daragon. It is not really the clothes that make you a head-turner. It is nothing else but the confidence you show to other people. 🙂

BONUS:

If you are in the Philippines, I assure you you can find tons of these in Divisoria. Including this Balenciaga inspired ‘bayong.’
